Directs the operations of the Institutional Research Office by managing the collection and assessment of Cleveland State University (CSU) data in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Develops, implements, and manages systems to provide data and information for CSU planning, assessment, decision making, and resource allocation. Plans an institutional research and assessment protocol for CSU. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.





Minimum Qualifications

• 
  
• Master's degree preferably in education, statistics, data science, public administration, or a related field.
  
• Five (5) years of experience in institutional research, data analysis, or a related field within higher education. Three (3) of the five (5) years must be in a supervisory or leadership role.
  
• Experience in statistical software, such as Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), Statistical Analysis System (SAS), R and data visualization tools such as, Tableau and Power BI.

  • Doctorate preferably in data analytics, data science or related field.
    
    
    
    
    
    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    
    
    • 
      
    • Advanced knowledge of statistical analysis and predictive modeling skills. Knowledge in using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning tools to enhance data analysis.
      
    • Knowledge in developing and maintaining internal and external data dashboards, data governance, data quality management, data security.
      
    • In-depth knowledge and understanding of institutional research principles and practices.
      
    • Knowledge of higher education trends, policies, accreditation standards, and compliance requirements.
      
    • Skilled in problem-solving, analysis, follow-through, influence, and persuasion. The ability to function as systems thinker and be solution minded with a global perspective.
      
    • Ability to use statistical software, such as SPSS, SAS, R and data visualization tools, such as Tableau, Power BI.
      
    • Ability to manage projects, meet deadlines and tackle emergencies and difficult situations.
      
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex data clearly and effectively.
      
    • Ability to promote a data-informed culture and implement data governance practices.
      
    • Ability to lead and manage a team, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
      
    • Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives and data-driven decision-making processes.
      
    • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with CSU leadership, faculty, staff, and external partners.
      
    • Ability to promote a data-informed culture and advocate for the use of data in decision-making processes.
      
    • Ability to develop and maintain user-friendly, visually appealing data dashboards.
      
    • Ability to stay current with advancements in data analytics, AI, and machine learning to enhance institutional research capabilities.
